As of January 1, 2016, members will no longer need their primary care provider’s (PCP) referral through PacificSource in order to see a specialist. The only plan that still requires a PCP referral (plan notification) is the MyCare 25 plan in the Portland area.

This change will allow our members greater flexibility and provider choice. However, PCPs play a vital role in the health of our members, and PacificSource encourages all members to select and seek care from their PCP, regardless of referral requirements
